Many people are facing this issue after installing ubuntu on their system.

So if you are also facing this problem than be happy because i found a solution for this problem.

There are many possible solution for it.

Solution 1:

Check whether wifi is not hard or soft blocked

open a terminal (ctrl+alt+t) and run follwing command

	~$ rfkill list all

if you get something like this

2: asus-wlan: Wireless LAN
	Soft blocked: yes
	Hard blocked: no

3: asus-bluetooth: Bluetooth
	Soft blocked: no
	Hard blocked: no

than your wifi is soft blocked, and you can unblock it by running

	rfkill unblock all

reboot and your wifi will work now.

Solution 2:

In case your wifi is hard blocked, to check run

	~$ rfkill list all

you will see something like this

2: asus-wlan: Wireless LAN
	Soft blocked: no
	Hard blocked: yes

3: asus-bluetooth: Bluetooth
	Soft blocked: no
	Hard blocked: no

if it is hard blocked than you have to unblock it by wifi switch, i.e, (Fn+f2) in this case

Solution 3:

If the solution 1 did not work for you, dont’t worry run this command

	~$ echo "options asus_nb_wmi wapf=1" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/asus_nb_wmi.conf

reboot your system and the wifi should work now

Solution 4:

If none of the solution worked for you than its probably driver issue, you have to install driver for wifi. don’t worry driver is available here. Download the wifi driver and extract it.

go to the driver directory and give it execution permission by running

	chmod +x install test uninstall

Now to install it run

	./install

To test it without installing run

	./test

To uninstall it run

	./uninstall

To install it with dkms run

	sudo make dkms

Yaa’y that’s it wifi should work now.
